Default 06 pds cart go/no-go problem

I have a 2006 pds cart. stock ride height. Only options are speed chip, new battery cables and light kit.

after short use it would fail to respond to the pedal. I had the controller from upgrading my 05 cart and decided to switch them. I switched the controllers and noticed the small red wire on the solenoid contact showed signs of excessive heat. After further inspection the lug had overheated, stud had slightly shifted and showed tell tale signs (color change, plastic around stud had slightly melted) of overheating. I cut the end off the wire, replaced the terminal, swapped in the good solenoid from my 05 upgrade and buttoned it up. I guess the overheated contact/solenoid was the problem all along. I assume it was loose and then overheated. Obviously if it overheated and became loose I have another problem. I have had the carts about 2 months. This cart has been ridden less than 4 miles since I got it.

Sound like i am on the right track? it worked when I put it back together. weather not suitable for a extended test drive right now.

It's hard to say. Did the heat cause the looseness? Did the loosness cause the heat? I don't know if you will ever know. Keep an eye on the replacement controller / connector and see what happens Welcome to the world of diagnosing electrical problems
