Default 48v Club Car DS has 6 - 6 volt batteries

Just bought an '03 DS. Serial number indicates 48v (starts with AQ), motor voltage says 48v.

It has 6 GC-2 batteries (NAPA) which from what I read are 6v...

I have a 48v cart running on 36v? Will this cause an issue to go back to 48v?

No you won't hurt a thing. Those are the wrong batteries in there now. Does the cart even run?

It does, but does very poor on hills and only lasts about 30 mins on a full charge.

I was worried I screwed up with this purchase, which I suppose is still to be determined!

I'm looking for new batteries now... Thanks for the reply.

What charger did you get with the cart? If it is a 36V charger then you will need more than just new batts.

Charger faceplate says DC Ouput: 48v, 13A.

Feel like I am good there? Would charging 6 - 6v ruin the charger?

That charger should be killing your batteries! Get 6 x 8V batteries and you should be much happier!
