Default Alltrax AXE 4865 Is it toast?

I drove my cart last evening and parked it in the garage with no issues. This am I hopped on it, turned on key, clicked it into reverse (I have reversing contactors)...heard the solenoid click....but no go.

Ok, the solenoid clicks when peddle is depressed, and my reversing contactors do their click when I change from F to R.

I have 56V at Controller B- and B+
I have 28V at B- and M- at rest
I have 58V at B- and M- when peddle is pressed, but it stays at 58V as peddle is pressed to the floor.
The Controller LED light does NOT come on at any point.

I don't want to buy a new controller if this one isn't bad. Am I missing any other diagnostic test?

Also, I bypassed the BMS LV cutoff to make sure the relay wasn't bad. Cart acted the same and still a no go.

Any help to confirm if controller is good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys!!

Solenoid is clicking, but controller's LED isn't coming on is the red flag.
Check for Battery pack voltage on Pin-1.

If you get B+ there when pedal is pushed, AXE is bad.

If not, trace the red wire back to where is joins the red wire going to the solenoid. Might just be a bad sonic weld.

Of course, with a reversing contactor, you wiring between pedal switch and controller might be different, but B+ still has to be put on pin-1 to power up the AXE.

Ok....I'm not sure I understood your post completely JohnnieB, but here's an additional voltage measurement"

B- to M1: At rest the voltage is "0". When I push the peddle and solenoid clicks on, I get 55V. It stays at 55V when I press the peddle to the floor.

Is that what you wanted to know?

In addition, when I run the same test between B- and where the red wire connects to the solenoid, I get the same readings. (Which I would expect to get)

You need to check the small pin one for pack voltage when the pedal is pushed..

Not sure what "M1" is.

Placing battery voltage on Pin-1 on AXE controller is what turns it on.

I’m sorry. I’m giving you the wrong terminology. My Alltrax iooks like the pic above.

The power between B-& Pin 1 is “0” at rest, and when I press the peddle the voltage goes to 55V and stays at 55V when the peddle is fully depressed.

Sorry, It looks like the AXE is toast.

Make sure the voltage is actually on Pin-1. Could be a bad connector, but all a AXE needs to power up is something above about 16V between the B- terminal and Pin-1.

If pin one has pack voltage and you have no led she is toast.

Ok, so based upon my previous laptop hookup I determined that the maximum amps the cart "demanded" when going up a steep hill was 345amps.

So, I adjusted my old 4865 650 amp controller to allow only 300 amps max to flow to the motor. Essentially the same performance, but squeezing out a little more run time.

Now that I'm looking at a new controller, I'm thinking Alltrax again.....but what amperage?

Maybe 400 amp at most? Clearly I didn't need a 650 amp controller.

Any thoughts?
