The Adapter board has the diode built in to it. look at the middle picture, that board has it, hard to see but it is there and relatively large for a diode.

I have never heard that. The wiring diagram shows the diode and resistor and Alltrax recommends it.

Middle picture? Like I said I don't know what you are looking at it but the Alltrax manuals and diagrams say to install it.

What model controller are you looking at? DCX500?

I read all of these instructions on their website, but the instructions and diagrams that came with the controller says different, not necessary, diode or resistor. I'll scan the instructions, also waiting to get back with PQ, I called yesterday & asked the very same questions. Should get their answer today, will not connect until I get the all clear from PQ!

Lol. Install the diode and resistor and roll out. The resistor helps protect the solenoid contacts

Yea the instructions said it wouldn't hurt anything, I only have the old resistor and diode from the original solenoid, I wonder if this would work? PQ didn't send anything with the controller or solenoid.

I also questioned the no diode and resistor statement..... so much so that I wanted to hear this from Alltrax if it was true... I told them what you said you found and they said, I quote

helpdesk

to scottyb
That information is completely incorrect.

Alltrax

Send me your address in an email and I will send you the resistor and diode needed for your answers to my questions...
