Default wiring a 48v club car with 4 12 v batteries

Hi, I just picked up a 1999 club car and it came with 4 new 12 volt batteries. It looks like the battery tub is for 6 batteries. Would it be ok to wire it with the 4 12 volts? How would I do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be sad to have to get rid of new batteries if they are genuine golf car type. You need to fabricate yourself cages from aluminium angle and then hook up the batteries as per normal , pos to neg. We have a number of these adaptions running at the golf club, some for 5 years without any issues. 6 8v will give longer run times if that is an issue.

I don't think they are for golf carts. The batteries say mercedes benz on them. They are brand new.

I wouldn't put those in a cart, for one thing the cart charger is not made to charge those batteries, car batteries go in a Car, you need golf cart batteries

Yes, I don't think they are golf cart batteries. They have regular car posts
