Trojan T-105

My batteries are less then a year old and don't seam to stay charged as long as they should . Checked the water today and cant see any . How high should I fill them ?

1/4 inch above the plates.

Thanks for the help wife bringing the water home now .

fill batteries to proper amount , put on charger , after full charge (up to 16 hrs) recheck water levels ... do this weekly

Wrong order, check electrolyte and add distilled water only if the plates are expose and then only add enough to cover plates.
Charge batteries fully, then fill to proper level.

The electrolyte expands (Grows) during the charge process and the cells may be over filled if topped off while partially discharged. Also can bubble over while charging.

Also, how often do you charge your batteries?
They ought to be recharged after each use.

Use this picture for a reference, unless you want corrosion everywhere. If you fill up to the bottom of the "ring", you will have acid mess to deal with. I know those pics came from trojan website, but i also know what a pain dealing with acid everywhere is. As long as the fluid is always above the plate dividers (those are not really the battery plates just spacers), you are not harming the batteries, nor losing any capacity. Having more fluid in there does not get you any more range or battery life.
