Gas G8 High Speed Gears

Does anyone know why the price of the high speed gears are so different. They range from 260.00 to 500.00. Are they all made out of aluminum. I put the cheap ones in but i did something wrong and it eat them up. The gears that came out seem to be made from something else.

I never heard of alum gears in a gearbox, they would weigh a lot less and be lighter color metal. Alum is too soft for gears, and gears have to be hardened. Alum is common with chain sprockets but not gears.
