2003 ds ir
I got this cart for cheap a few years ago. Getting new batteries as the Interstates are giving up. I would like for the cart to go a little faster. Is it a series, regent, shunt type motor? How can I tell for sure? I am putting a lift kit and bigger all terrain tires on it. Is the cheapest way to get it faster to change the controller. We just use it on the farm. Thanks

Verify the serial number, but it should start with AQ, which is Sepex. Sounds like you need more torque than speed. Quality batteries and 2g cables will help a bit, but you're on the right track with controller. Reach out to either Cartsunlimited or Revolution and they'll tell you what you need. Which lft kit are you using?

Yes, AQ0343. The Rhox 3" and 6" cost the same and I wanted to go with 20x10x12 tires. I already have a front basket and rear seat/platform bed on the cart now. It also has the largest AT tires we could get without a lift. Thanks

Re: 2003 ds ir
I did the 6" Rhox BMF a-arm lift. I went with the 20x10-12 tires but I wished I'd went with 22" tires so I could run lower psi. Also added a Speed/Torque motor, 500 amp controller, solenoid, cable upgrade. It came from Buggies Unlimited and was super easy to install. I love the performance kit. I got started and just couldn't stop myself from buying. Wider tires required fender flares, 6" lift require running boards, and higher speeds required seat belts and glove box covers so things wouldn't fly out. Like a new cart now.

Out of curiosity, what made you go with BU over Revolution or Carts Unlimited?

Re: 2003 ds ir
A neighbor/good friend used BU last year when he upgraded his Precedent and raved about their shipping speed and tech support. He had only good things to say about them. I only bought the Motor, controller, solenoid, cable upgrade from them. Everything else came from other venders. On the performance kit I got they were about $150 cheaper than the competition. I did my best to compare apples to apples. I work for a Manufacturing Rep so I know you can't compare apples to oranges. And not that it's an issue with everyone but they offer Affirm.
