Re: Help ID an old Curtis Controller ???
If you are looking for a test then I suggest getting three 12V car headlights and put them in series then hook the controller to them like they were the motor. Low current resistive load is very easy on the controller so you can skip items like the main contactor and F/R switch. Put a potentiometer on the input at 0-5K then see what it does.
Note: Three headlights for 36V system and four headlights for 48V system. This is a great way to make a test bench for controller testing. You can use 14 gauge wires with alligator clips since the current is low. |

Re: Help ID an old Curtis Controller ???
Those PDFs are the first place I went but after reading thru them I think I found that they could be made either way? I was hoping maybe one of the Veterans ( Roady,PG, etc) Could id the throttle input by the presents of the A2 lug? or?

Re: Help ID an old Curtis Controller ???
scotty, most are setup with a potentiometer as "standard." This probably doesn't help since pot could be 0-5k or 5k-0.
Ask Curtis. They should be able to tell you via numbers off the tag. IMO, at 550A I wouldn't think it started life headed to a golf cart! Sorry I'm not much help. |
