Regardless of all that, it looks like the contactors Chevy is looking at are suitable. The higher current draws are very brief, only on the inrush. This is why, like you stated we see carts pulling loads like this with #4 and #2 cables everyday.

( NOTE CHECK for correct newer part numbers as they may have changed and for your voltage battery pack ) I have found that the Club Car switch #101856001 and housing #101855002 work best and fit right in place on original CC battery box cover and are much better at standing up to water damage.

I have a little experience running battery banks with high amp draws in that 400-500 amp range for powering communications radio amplifiers. It has been my experience that bigger is better when it comes to cable and contacts. If you run properly sized cable and contacts they should not get beyond just a little bit warm after running for a while.

If your cables (or lugs/connectors or solenoid or switch) are getting warm (or downright hot) then you are losing power and need to upsize. Heat=power loss

If it was me running something that draws 400-500 amps even on a short term basis I sure as hell wouldn't use anything smaller than 2/0..but that's just me. Just because folks do it doesn't mean it makes any sense.

Yes, that is a killer price on that contactor also. You would need also the main contactor like the kilovac, both of which have a 12v coil which you could power off of a small aux. Battery. Other than that you will need a single pole double throw rocker switch of your choice, or push buttons and a latching relay...

I guess not lol. 72 volt with a bracket? or go with the 12 volt and a bracket and run it off a mini 12 volt battery?

Chevy just looked at that again, only 100-125 amp rating. I wouldn't recommend it. Albright's comparable contactor to the first one you linked cost about 360.
If you use the kilovac main contactor you will need a separate 12volt power supply anyways. I personally would go with the first two you linked and run a small 12v for control and accessories... My .02

So these 2?- =101-ZJWH400A-2T http://www.evsource.com/tls_nanfeng.php $208.88
and a 101-LEV200H4ANA http://www.evsource.com/tls_kilovac.php $104.88

Will I ne able to hook this up with 48v and 72v or will I have to wait until I get the batteries for 72v?
