Radio install pics on a G16
Looking for Radio install options for the G16 carts besides the usual overhead consoles from BU or everythingcarts.com. Already looked at the custom radio install thread didnt see alot of g16's. Looking to keep my stowage on the dash if possible.

Re: Radio install pics on a G16
Sorry I don't have a picture. But years ago, we would take the 4 drink holder housing out, cut the 2 center drink holders flush with the upper ring and epoxie plastic disc's on the underside. That would leave plenty of room to install a "deck" in the panel fascia. The real problem was were to mount the speakers. I think I remember Esseness mounting his in the service panel lid. Just a thought.

Re: Radio install pics on a G16
I stole the head unit mounting from CraigTN,
I couldnt make myself cut the freshly painted body, so I put the speakers here, Here you can see the access panel better, Good luck |

Yea, it fits in that spot perfectly. You only loose one small space on right side, but you still have the left side. Make sure you wire up a switch on the dash, to cut off the constant power supply, but keep the memory wire directly to the battery.

Re: Radio install pics on a G16
Somebody has put in the ball holder location, and that is where I plan to try and put it next week when mine gets here. I remember him stating the back rest against the floor angle once installed.

You should post some pictures after your done, I'd love to see how it comes out. I'm a little nervous about how it will come out.

Re: Radio install pics on a G16
Thanks for the link BTB! The only thing I didnt like about Dogpile's install was the drink holders will drain on top of it. You could almost come up with a little roof of some sort though..........

Re: Radio install pics on a G16
Maybe you could plasti dip the outside of the stereo to waterproof it? Do you think that might work?
