Default EZGO TXT Cables - How many?

New member here. I recently acquired a 2005 EZGO TXT Standard 36v. I decided to upgrade the cables to 4ga, went online and purchased a "complete" set of cables. They sent me 12 cables. I told them that I thought there were 13 cables but they assured me that they had sold hundreds of sets of cables and my cart only required 12.

So I installed the 12 cables and still have one 6ga cable that I feel needs to be replaced. So my question is, is there a cable on a Series cart that would not need to be upgraded from 6ga to 4ga?

All high current cables ought to be the same wire gauge since the same amperage flows through all of them.

I count 13 cables for series controllers without an A2 terminal.

Ask the vendor to send you a wiring diagram that shows how to wire a series EZGO TXT cart using only 12 high current cables.

Thank you, that answers my question. I sent them the wiring diagram from the manual and labeled every cable (all 13 of them). That was when they said "we have sold hundreds of these cable sets" and I am apparently the only one asking for a 13th cable. They are sending me a cable, so they are making it right for me. I just wanted to be sure I was not being a pain in the a$$ for no reason.

Is this a stock controller? If so, can the plug braking terminal be ignored - not used? I know Alltrax doesn't use one, but if it's present on the controller, does it have to be connected?

Too cold for me to go look at mine.

EDIT: Never mind. I reread JohnnyB's comment and he said 13 without A2.

That's funny - PS plug braking makes it 14 but there was never a series drive controller cart with less than 13 cables.

Plug braking allows you to change directions on the fly, without f'ing up the controller. Used in forklifts, it allows you to go from forward to reverse, while moving in forward, or vice-versa.

It is possible with sepex motors, but usually only used with series motor.

The attached PDF is a Tech Note from Alltrax explaining Plug braking.

So, who is this vendor that has shipped hundreds of 12 piece cable sets?
