Rear end strength
Can the stock rear end of a cart hold up to the power of a 140hp streetbike motor?

Re: Rear end strength
2 weeks/100 views and no more replies?? I feel like I may be over my head here with a Streetbike engine build... Maybe I will stick with the ATV/LT build first and see how that goes

Re: Rear end strength
Answer: No. It won't. Best is ATV style chain drive such as Suz or Kaw 450.
Get good brakes with ATV axle assembly. OR, go with open drive desert racer drive..$$ Ratios of OEM cart final drive are all wrong too. JR |

Re: Rear end strength
Thanks for the reply JRL. I will be going with an RPM gearbox when I go to tackle this build...

Re: Rear end strength
Just put together a ZX636 EZGO with the stock rear end and it's been fine. Haven't been too hard on it on the street (pulled a couple of wheelies). Off road mostly. Don't know long term, since we are using a jack shaft with 14t and 51t sprockets, so it's turning the rear at a high RPM.
