New Member - Eco Install
Long Time Club Car owner who recently converted our 2014 Precedent to Lithium. We had a failing battery in a 2.5 year old pack and considered replacing the bad battery with a used 2.5 year old one or just replacing the pack.
Ultimately decided to sell the 5 good batteries and go with an ECO 48 volt 105 AH Battery. Install was super easy, other than an issue I created myself with the reducer. Eco & my local dealer were very responsive and helped me with my questions. Happy with the performance so far, been 12 days and used about 8-10 times so far, usually for golf or neighborhood drives. A couple miles plus 18 holes of golf drops the SOC 12-14%. Hot weather, flat terrain. Recharge is quick, no regrets so far. Final note for those rationalizing the cost. I was thinking a 10 year “payback” still would not tip me to Lithium, but when I priced a new set of Lead /Acid Trojans, I realized buying one set now, and another in 5 years made the payback period for Lithium “seem Shorter”. That was all the rationalization I needed. |

Add to the list of pluses the fact of no more water mess and corrosion; I don't even know how to put a price on that!
Good for you |

Yea. A friend just priced a new set of Lead acid batteries, in one year they went from $700 to $1200. Club Cars Lithium HP cart went from avg $12,000 to $15,000 equipped for golf. Ouch. Supply shortages and inflation are crazy, and I doubt prices will go back down.

Here is a type of battery I don't hardly see mentioned anymore. It's the DIY Lithium Battery. Order your LiFePo4 batteries, BMS and Charger through Aliexpress and install them yourself. You could probably spend $1500 to get going. Attached is a photo of my battery during production.
