Default MCOR IV Bad already?

A year ago (actually this weekend Memorial Day) we went camping and used the cart heavily. On the last day of climbing hills at Lake Lanier Ga, it quit.
Long story short the controller burned up. (96 DS with a modified Curtis)
I replaced it with an Alltrax 500 amp and a new MCOR IV retrofit kit with David's help from Revolution Carts. (June 2020)
Recently had an issue with no reverse and jerky throttle. Again David talked me through the F&R switch being bad, installed a HD one, reverse fixed.
But the throttle is jerky and cuts out at 100% throttle and I get the Low Throttle Input Under Range error flag. Testing it my MM jumps around and loses signal at 100%.
I did the pump the throttle trick and cleared the memory and it worked for one ride.
So my question is less than a year old it's bad? It's the made in mexico one too. Hope this isn't an expensive reoccurring thing.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I've found that the Auto-Cal in the software doesn't work very well. Use the "Absolute Throttle" setting. This is the setup for an IQ it should be the same for a DS

If I remember correctly you have to go into the throttle page and select it.

My first three made in Mexico ones lasted less than a year each. My current made in China one will be 2 years old on August 1 and is smooth as smooth can be.

Just sayin'.....

And with a little bit of electronic repair experience, you can open the MCOR up and repair it. The biggest problem is not enough spring tension on the wiper arm. There is a sticky on how to do it.

There is a new Mcor available on the market called RTS from Red Hawk. See it on U=tube @ Waynes Golf carts. He swears by it.

This will only fit a DS that has the original MCOR1. It is much cheaper to install an AM293101, MCOR1 to MCOR4 conversion kit.

Then you can change the OEM MCOR4 every year or so very easily.
