Default Tomberlin Vanish

Hello all. Just picked up a Vanish 4x4. Was hoping all that was wrong with it was the “bearing”. Order and installed new bearing, but cart still just shutters when gas pedal is applied. Batteries are brand new and fully charged. My question is how can I check the motor if it’s good. I notice the center terminal was rusted/ chard like it got very hot. When I step on the pedal it slowly goes/ shudders but doesn’t seem to stop. Almost like the pedal is stuck. The only was to get it to slow/stop is kill the “ignition” switch. Could the motor be bad/ shorted or the controller? Thanks for any info

Update, what would cause the three wires going to the motor to get very hot? I think I should start there
