Does this lift look correct? Tie rod bar hitting.
I never used the cart until just a few days ago when I got a PDS controller from a member here. The steering was pulling hard to the right when driving it. I noticed the tie rod was bent in the threaded section at the passenger side and I took off the tie rod to try to bend it back. Once bent back more straight it does not fit into place. The rod is hitting the leaf springs.
Any suggestions or does something look wrong? PDS cart with a jakes lift. I know no history on the cart and got it not working. Thank you. https://postimg.cc/5QgrkdtV https://postimg.cc/Zvyk7YQy https://postimg.cc/sMj61DJ9 https://postimg.cc/bS0gNKDB |

Re: Does this lift look correct? Tie rod bar hitting.
My guess is that a previous owner has put pre 2001.5 front springs on to move the axle forward to get more clearance between the wheels and body. You have two options. Fit correct front springs or take the upward bend out by the axle with a press. The correct springs are single curve and do not have that bend at the end. This has rotated the axle backward and messed up the caster and it is also allowing the tie bar to hit the springs.

Move the front of the springs to the top of the plate.

I was going to suggest that but concerned more about the caster angle as the axle will still be leaning back! It's worth trying and seeing how it handles!

I would say get a new lift kit because it looks like the old owner had problems with it

Re: Does this lift look correct? Tie rod bar hitting.
There is no issue with the lift kit as it is a spindle lift. Nothing to do with this issue. Its the wrong oem springs fitted. As I stated, the springs can be re profiled on a press or the correct springs can be fitted. Alternatively as stovebolt suggested moving the front of the springs above the axle plate is worth trying. You may have to change the spacers under the steering rack to square it up.
