resurrection question
First off (greetings from North East North Carolina)
I have an early 1980's club car that I have resurected from an 8 year slumber in the weather here in moist North carolina. Burried under 6 inches of pine straw. I broke the wheels free of the brake shoes with a mighty tug from my trailblazer. I looks like after battery and wire replacement and a brake adjustment I have the beginnings of a golf cart. My question is how fast is a properly operating stock 1981 club car supposed to go. Mine has a 5 relay and resistor bank speed controller and I am going approximately 10 mph. Is this right? what are my cheapest solutions to achieving 12 to 15 mph? |

Re: resurrection question
That speed is about right for an '81. Honestly..... be glad it runs
I would sell it for as much as your market will bear and buy a 1984 and up CC. There are many after market upgrades available for the 84 and up carts.... speed wise the options are limited until you get into the solid state speed control carts of the mid 90s...you can always do a 48v conversion w/ solid state upgrade. But that costs $ |
