Substitute 12 volt battery
I need to replace the Trojan batteries in my 2011 RXV. Everywhere local I've checked is out of stock and back ordered. A local battery retailer said that he has the Deka 7V31 severe duty batteries and has sold them for carts. Does anyone have any experience with this battery ? I can get them for half the cost of a Trojan.

Re: Substitute 12 volt battery
To my mind "has sold them for carts" does NOT mean they worked well or long. Golf cart batteries are a different animal. I've seen people use automotive starting batteries, and they did work - some - for a little while

I don't have any experience with Deka batteries. Hopefully the local shop will get the Trojans back in stock soon.

Re: Substitute 12 volt battery
I've heard that Trojans are very hard to get right now. I would not mix a different battery into a set.

Re: Substitute 12 volt battery
They are impossible to find around here. I did find a dealer almost 2 hours away with US Batteries in stock but I've never used them before and they are the same cost as the Trojans.

Re: Substitute 12 volt battery
If Trojans unavailable, US Batteries are a good choice...

Re: Substitute 12 volt battery
For years it's been Trojan, US Battery & Crown. Since Trojan was sold I'm leaning toward US or Crown. Just my personal preference.
