OK. I guess I better remember to leave out any extra background in posts going forward then.

Are the panels you're looking at using designed specifically to charge 12v batteries or are they a 12v nominal panel with no electronics whatsoever? When feeding a charge controller you want basic panels without charge controllers built in. Connect the three panels in series and then to the charge controller.

Lastly, why use 12v panels. Why not use one (or two) higher voltage and wattage panels.

Cheers
Pat.
The panels were super cheap Black Friday bare bones deal. I'll take a look at getting MPPT. Thanks for the tip.

As said in other post A solar panel will not fully charge your battery pack properly like a golf cart charger. You need 18 to 25 amps to fully charge a battery pack. It needs to get the electrolytes moving inside the batteries to keep everything mixed up or everything will settle at the bottom of the battery. A golf cart battery pack should be charged every day my a golf cart charger

Do you have a module number or a link for the panels? I just want to make sure they’re ok for connecting to a charge controller for you.

You should get around 5A max. out of an MPPT with 300w of solar connected. Probably not enough to get the electrolyte bubbling but ok to keep it topped off.

Would one of those cart roof top solar panels that charge the cart all the time work in your situation?

@ Captain Claptrap,

Those panels will work fine. Make sure whatever charge controller you purchase can handle at least 65v solar input. The open circuit voltage of each panel is 21.6v, giving a total of 64.8v

Cheers
Pat.

I keep it parked under my shed outside most of the time. I would have to start parking it in the open fully exposed to weather and I'm not sure that's the best for longevity. That, and with this approach it will be easier for me to re-purpose the parts if I get rid of the cart.
