Default Upgrading 500 Amp to 600 Amp

I currently have a 2000 TXT series cart that has been converted to 48 volt. It has an Alltrax SPM 48500, 400 Solenoid, HD F&R, and 2 GA wires throughout. I have a Plum Quick Black Widow II 17.9 HP motor that will be installed soon.

I would like to upgrade to the new Alltrax SR 48600 so I can add the FN module. Is there a noticeable torque difference in the 500 and 600 amp controller or will I be spending more money just to have OTF control?

The SPM control flow limit is 500 amps
SR500 limit is 570 peak. It also provides higher/longer sustained peaks.
The SR600 limit is 680 peak. These peaks last only a few seconds under maximum load condition. The 2 and 5 minute sustained ratings are also higher.

If you have the biggest baddest motor available it only makes sense you should power it with the biggest baddest controller available = SR48600

Below is some data for your comparison. I hope this helps

Thanks scottyb! I purchased my current configuration from you about 1.5 years ago. Would the components still support the jump?

Oh yeah - the 600 uses the same 400 solenoid, F&R device, and cable set. We use some longer cables for the SR due to the terminal locations but, you may be able to turn it around to make the main + and - cables work. If not I sell individual cables on the website.

Would an older AXE 48 650 amp be an upgrade over an SR48500?
