Default EZGO 2Five

Gentlemen,
I am thinking about purchasing an EZGO 2Five Street Legal Cart.
Before I go to a dealer, (150 miles away) I have a few questions that maybe someone can answer.

On the 2Five, is there other option for this cart like lift kits, and larger wheels?
Things of this nature.

Will installing a lift kit void the warranty, or render it NON street legal?

Thanks,
Pujo

Briefly looking over the specs of that cart I find it is a very new model. That means aftermarket is going to be next to non-existent. Wheels, tires and other common items, of course. But not much more.
Since it is designed to be a street legal cart, you may have other issues outside of parts availability. Check your state and local laws regarding modifications and street use. My guess is, if ezgo doesn't make it, there would be warranty issues. That said, it would also come under the Magnuson-Moss Act. In short, it means the dealer/manufacture would have to prove your modifications caused or directly effected any failures you may wish to charge to the warranty.

The 2Five is pretty much an RXV, so I am going to guess that a lot of the parts will interchange. However, someone with more experience than me should come along shortly and confirm.

How would you guys rate the 2Five to the GEM e2?
Undecided on which cart, and don't know anything about the GEM brand.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pujo

Thanks for the reply. I have 2 EZGO carts now and have always been satisfied with both units. I am ready for a new one, and just not sure....

I do like the looks of the GEM, but love the efficiency
of the EZGO AC drive train.

The ac drive is killer! I think I could climb the side of a building without loosing speed if I could figure out a way to make the wheels stick.

Hi --
Great to see someone researching BEFORE purchase..
I am not much help on other carts, but here is some RXV/2Five info.
please let me know if it helps.

2Five is based on the RXV. There are several important differences.
1) LEGAL RXV's are GOLF CARTS , 2Fives are LOW SPEED VEHICLES.
Laws about use are different insurance? Tag? registration? who can drive? speed?
laws and enforcement by state.
2)Braking systems RXV's have no conventional "real" brake. (the small brake on motor
is parking/emergency brake.2Fives have 4 wheel brakes (as required by law).
3) other equipment. @Fives have seat belts,rear view mirrors,brake lights,turn signals
and other features required for cars. This is all optional equipment on RXV,s
4)Since braking is accomplished through the motor and controller,
putting oversize tires on RXV's can degrade brake performance.
5)RXV,s and 2Fives are computer controlled. Extreme caution should be used in modifying the electrical systems.
************************************************** **********

RXV's are great carts-2Fives should be just as good.
At the shop where i work,we put larger tires on RXV's all the time. There is a modest speed increase with the larger tires . As long as the tires fit under an un-lifted cart, hill climbing and braking seem unaffected.
Performance : take an RXV straight off lease from golf corse and reprogram it for high speed and it will outperform many MODIFIED dc carts on hills.
It will not outrun them on level ground as speed is limited by controller to under 20 mph, but they don't seem to notice hills.

Good luck- please let us no what you decide on and how you rate it!!!!
Will be glad to answer questions about RXV's

We were a gem dealer, Avoid them (many dash display failures, doesnt deliver advertised range, poor quality seat material) . If you get a 2five be sure to get these two things. Only accept the model with the newer style charger, with the blue plug & the red, white, blue & black plug it is far more reliable (the older one with the 2 black plugs had a problem with connector melting internally). If you look under the seat, you will notice the colorful charger plugs easily, if they are present. Get the model with 6x 8v batteries, the more lead you have under the seat, the better. The lift & suspension parts should interchange, but keep in mind, there were rear suspension changes last year, the axle mounting changed slightly, and the rear shocks were changed to txt rear shocks with studs instead of eyelets.
