Default How To Check If Regen Braking Is Working On PDS

My '07 PDS came from a country club and was set up with the "All Terrain" mode. Today I installed the blue J-2 connector for "Steep Hill" mode. I ran it down the street and then turned down my pretty steep driveway with pedal up and I could not detect any regen braking. It seemed to perform just like it did in when in all terrain mode. I didn't think to try the diagnostic mode too see how many beeps to confirm that the controller is recognizing the steep hill connector.

Any other suggestions?

Rick

Try a longer grade. It does take a bit for the sensor to trigger the regen.

You did cycle the run tow switch correct ? Put the cart in daig mode and listen for the initial beeps.

I think
1 beep = all-terrain 13.5 mph No chip
2 beeps = steep hill 13.5 mph Blue
3 beeps = mild hill 14.5 mph Yellow
4 beeps = freedom (Speed) 19 mph Red

As I mentioned above, I did not think of that until later. I will check on that today.

untill you do that it will stick in the all terain mode or what ever it was in last. At full speed when you pop off the gas you will feel it try and slow or like a brake is applied.

I just tried the diagnostic mode and got 2 beeps so it is set for steep hill mode. I will give it a drive when the monsoon rain stops.

Thanks for the info.
