Default 1988 EZ-GO Resitor Cart issue

What would cause the resistor coils to get so hot they glow?

Okay. I have a chance to buy the cart. They told me the resisters get hot. I was concerned that there is a mechanical issue.

Tell them there may be a real problem when that happens and drive the price down to take care of the upgrades you're likely to do if you stick around here.

The person that has the cart indicated they own a Golf cart shop. I would think they would know that the resitors heating up is due to slow driving. So with that said, is there anything else that could be the cause?
