repairing plastic
Son backed into a tree recently and pushed the back sitting rack into the plastic on the lower half. I'm sure I can bend the metal rack back into place but the plastic is missing some chunks and wondering if anyone has repaired the plastic on these before.
I looked up some JBWeld plastic stuff as well as plastic welding it, but not sure what direction to go. |

Re: repairing plastic
Don't use JB Weld....that would be wasting your time.
For repairing, gluing plastic back together I've found nothing works better than this 3M product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They call it "emblem adhesive" and I use it for all kinds of stuff. Ten plus years ago when I first got my cart, it wasn't a week in the woods before I hit a low branch and it cracked my windshield. Like a 15" long crack to the edge. Well, pretty doesn't count in the woods so I glued it with this "stuff". It's still glued there today and I've not touched it in the ten plus years. Can you see it? Yes. Do the deer care? Not so much. I've also used it when I cracked (broke off) a half moon shape of my Lexan roof. That was about a year ago....it's still strong as ever today. I can't say enough about this stuff. It's not expensive and it just works. I tried to point out the windshield crack in this pic: |

Re: repairing plastic
I was looking at this stuff also. It's got a few chunks missing so need some sort of filler also which is why this came to mind.

Re: repairing plastic
It really depends how bad it is. Pics?
I’ve repaired lots of these, but I’ve found the best repairs vary based on extent of the damage. The jb weld stuff sticks well but I wouldn’t use it to “glue” anything back together. I have used it as a “filler” for scratches before painting a body. It works much better than bondo |

Re: repairing plastic
a couple pictures are worth 1000s of words
a .5"x.5" piece or a 5"x5" piece? big cracks around it? anything can be repaired, given enough time and money i'm pretty handy with fiberglass mat and long strand fiber filler i've fixed a few plastic things with both before |

Re: repairing plastic
I have used super glue and baking soda for repairs and filling in holes and scratches,
sandable and paintable . |
