Default 2001 series EZGO upgrade path

Hi I am new and in need of some recommendations. I have a 2001 series EZGO. It has 23" tires, slight lift, trojan t-105 batteries from 2006 and stock everything else. I need help giving my cart some umph, my wife complains that it has no BALLS and she is correct. I am linking another post where I attached some pics from under the seat.

My upgrade path is 4 ga. wires and then a 400 controller if the wires don't make a notable difference. Looking at the AXE-4845. Would I need a brake plug? What other parts would I need?
Where should I order the wire set from, not interested in piecing together the kit by putting together my own wires as others have done.

Thanks

A 400 amp allrax controller and 4 ga cabling would make a noticable difference in performance.

Thanks Scotty, do I need the brake plug accessory they advertise with controllers? If so, what does it do? Also, if I replace controller do I need to do solenoid as well?

You should probably have a load test done on your batteries. If they are 06, then they are coming up on 5 years of use and may not be holding a full charge (no balls). I'm using 4ga wires, curtis 1204 controller (300amp?), 22in tires and pretty much stock 36 volt cart except for the lift. Motor is not new and I can get a small roostertail in loose sand, great pick up and decent speed (almost 20mph) I noticed with the cable replacement I get more torque which brings it up to speed quicker, but my top speed is the same.

Plug breaking is not needed in my opinion. Never heard any one say they use it and like it? This thread helps explain it better......
