So Mike you are saying freeing up the stock exhaust creates horsepower, but an aftermarket free-flow does not WTF?

That's exactly what I am saying - PLUS - there isn't any magic mod to make a 9 hp motor fly. The aftermarket headers are too open and therefore do not allow enough back pressure. The only system that I think would work is the new unit that Jake's has, being that is is a true header. Never seen it, but it is actually a working exhaust.

My comments are mainly posted because immediately following the jakes unit at $240.00, posts started flying in for CHEAPER ideas. When are people going to learn that cheaper isn't better? By the way - there's no need for the WT*...

I try to stay away from header talk on these little engines, putting a free flowing exhaust on an engine that has a carb you can block off with a quarter and a rev limiter of around 4000 is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Even if the engine would spin faster your only going to push out what you can take in. The engine will perform better with some backpresser considering this and its operating speed.

YES - 9 hp is 9 hp. There's NO magic bullet for insane power from them, no matter what brand you have...

freeflowing is freeflowing being modified stock or aftermarket. The RCC pipe will give you about 1 cart length.

You see those 5hp briggs pushing 9 hp easily on a go kart. But then the only thing stock is the block.

Sorry - Just trying to help by passing on facts from past experience. I am mainly trying to state that there's no (or not enough) bang for the buck. We do build about 300 custom carts a year, I think I have this one answered...
