Default need help again with controller

Lets not use the words "may have"..when you smell a strong oder of bakelight
after putting 1000 amps into something that maybe shouldnt have had that much juice put wrongly into it in first place.......#$%^&!!!..Next question:assuming i'm an electronic chef and have cooked the controller "well done"..can I now go out and buy a PB-6 potentiometer (bypass the controller) and get some mobility out of this 97 ezgo wagon before summer fades into fall..?
Take me thru the garden and tell me the possibilitys and the pitfalls...if its a weak sister to a controller i can accept that as lomngas i can get a couple months use outta it..open to any suggestions other than installing pedals...Hal

the PB-6 potentiometer , is just one part of the puzzle that makes the controller do what it was made to do, if you let the smoke out of the controller, then your going to need a new one for the cart to run

I guess if you could find one that will handle 1000 amps, that is kind of what a resistor coil cart does

You could convert it to a resistor coil cart, just post a wanted add for all the parts somebody is probably going to throw away after their conversion

I guess you could rewire the solenoid activation circuit so that as soon as you press the gas, it goes. FAST. However, with no current limiting, it would be up to you to press the gas, release the gas, press the gas, etc. to avoid smoking the motor, as it will draw as many amps as it wants.

Not really a solution.
