You remove the wheels, then the hubs. Three bolts hold on the steering rack...remove them. Remove the two bolts holding the upper control arm, the two bolts holding the shock to the lower mount, and the four bolts holding the spring plate to the frame mount. Now your entire front end is off.

Bolt up the pre assembled lower control arm assembly using new bolts and spring plate you saved. Bolt in new upper arms. Bolt on new spindles with lock tite. Grease and mount the hubs, attach the shocks, and put your tires back on.

Front end should take about 1.5 hrs with right tools. You need a 13mm deep well socket, 13mm open end wrench, and an allen wrench for spindles. I think the hub socket size is 13/16.

The rear isn't too bad either....

I am pretty much a jack of all trades I really would like to know which lift kit performs best over uneven ground? thanks will

DJBlade, besides sockets, open end wrneches and allen wrench, that is all you need for tools?

A jack, jack stands and an impact wrench helps....other than that, not too many tools involved.

Uneven ground would be a long travel lift kit. Both Jakes and Allsport 6" lift kits are not too articulating....a long travel will be though. One flaw of a long travel is that the front is very nice for uneven terrain, but the rear is still just blocks. Someone needs to work up an independent rear suspension.

Thanks DJBlade. Is a impact wrench necessary? I don't have one of those.

No, an impact wrench isn't necessary. It just speeds up the job a bit. Long travel kits do cost a bit more. They are nice though. Search around in here and you will find some members with them.

BTW, when you put the upper control arms on, use a lubricant. It is a tight fit putting the new arms in there. You will use the old bolts for them too. Also the new bolts that hold on the lower arm assembly are 17mm. Forgot about those.
