Club car slow uphill.
Good afternoon,
Just bought a 98 club car ds 48v. Had the batteries replaced. All are new trojans. It slows considerably up hills. I read a bunch of threads on fixing this, but I really just want to know if it is a problem or indicative of a problem. If it is normal, I'll just deal with it for now. Thanks. |

Re: Club car slow uphill.
How slow are you saying. 3-4 mph or 7-9 mph. How fast are you getting on level ground?

Half the speed up hill as on flat.

Re: Club car slow uphill.
The stock DS carts are pretty slow. Be prepared to spend over a $1000 to gain significant speed. I added a 500A controller and solenoid for $600 and didn't get much. A $500 motor should get me up to 25MPH which is fast enough for me on a golfcart

Re: Club car slow uphill.
Sounds llike you have the “blue motor”.
See: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1600022 Just a 12 mph golf cart. Bigger wires with good batteries may help a little up hills. Check pedal for full range to controller. .. Best bang for your buck ,If You Want More speed , upgrade the motor. |

Re: Club car slow uphill.
How can you check to make sure your accelerator pedal is getting full range because my friend has a 96 ds and I have a 97 ds and he smokes me on flat ground is there some kinda cable I can tighten underneath or something?

Re: Club car slow uphill.
How much do you press on pedal before your solenoid clicks and cart accelerates. If you have to push for an inch or two your pedal is worn. you can fill the gap behind the pedal for a quick fix with a wire tie and get full travel for the pedal back.
