Star Cart Diablo speed increase
My 2014 Star Diablo 2x2 48V has stock5.5hp motor and a Curtis 275amp controller. The 4x2 model comes with a 6.7hp motor and a Curtis 350amp controller and Star says they can be interchangeable. Don’t know the cost yet but any input? Will speed increase, I’m at 21 now?

Re: Star Cart Diablo speed increase
I have a 4x2 and I only get about 22 to 23 so seems like you would get an improvement on weight alone but I would not be surprised if you only get to like 25 26. I am by no means a cart expert just letting you know what I have on mine. I also have a 2x2 Yamaha G22 with a Navitas 400amp controller &stock motor and it goes 25, 26.

Re: Star Cart Diablo speed increase
More amperage will give you more torque. Not speed for
More speed you need: larger tires, different gear ratio (lower), more voltage or higher rpm’s. The max rpm can be set in the curtis controllers using the software and programming cable or hand held programmer. Take it to a dealer and see if they can raise the rpm limit on your current controller. |
