Default 2010 Emerge500 speed is suddenly slow

2010 Tomberline Emerg 500. With the key in the slow position the cart will slowly accelerate to 11 mph. It normally goes quickly to 20 mph. Cleaned (removed and wire brushed/filed) all battery connections. Verified all battery connections tight. In the high speed setting it goes about 14 mph instead of 24 mph. Any help is appreciated.

Update: The 6 Individual Cell voltages are 8.40 to 8.44 and overall voltage is 50.7 after charging.

Probably the speed sensor? Try to push the cart by hand, do you hear the click of the solenoid and feel resistance from motor?

Update: I located the speed sensor, disconnected it and reconnected it. It seems to have cleared the problem. We are going to try the cart when we go out to happy hour. I'll let you know.

Update: That didn't go to well. At first the speed would go right to 17mph in the slow setting, no matter how little or much the accelerator was pressed. We had dinner and when we came out to leave the cart would not respond at all. The only noise it made was the backup alert. Other than that, nothing. We towed it home the next morning. I'm open to suggestions.

In response to: Probably the speed sensor? Try to push the cart by hand, do you hear the click of the solenoid and feel resistance from motor? Yes, pushing the cart I could hear the solenoid click and feel resistance. (Before it stopped working)

I had something similar happen to mine and one of the brushes in the motor was stuck. The controller will just shut off if this is the case preventing operation. Just something to check.

Speed sensors are a genuine concern. If the controllers lose that signal most carts will fall back into a limp mode or other type of operation. If you basically moved that connector and it kind of worked, that would be an area to recheck. Make sure each pin of the connector (male and female) are all thoroughly crimped and secured still and fully inserted into the connector itself.

And then like Joe says, next step is probably the brushes. Brushes are a free check (other than some time on your back) and need inspection and cleaning anyway so it doesn't hurt to pull the motor to look.

Update: The cart has worked intermittently. When it doesn't work it moves at about 1 mph, real slow. It seemed to be caused by the connector to the throttle cables (4). I replaced the connector for the throttle cables. It now has a controller code (blinking light) of 1,2 Throttle Fault 1, Wiper signal out of range. Any suggestions for this?

Check the throttle sensor, probably it's the old style sensor with seperate circuit board, good time for replacement...
