I have tried to drill mine as well. screwed it up and need some advice on a new carb with the air/fuel mix srew. is this something you can buy or do you have to build it?

You can turn them into junk very fast. Hand drilling them is near impossible cause there kind of pointed. I do mine in a mill cause its easier to keep everything on center. The big trick is to not melt the carburetor body when you heat it to soften the epoxy.
This is the type of screw used originally, it's a real PITA to get out. |

An easier alternative is a redone carb from NRracing of Bullfrog racing. I don't see that VC lists the 2 circuit adjustable idle mixture carb anymore. I guess I better be VERY careful with my 2 carbs. No more throating experiments.

Yeah on an old 390 carb I never could get screw outheated with a torch couldn’t break it aloose

I was scanning NR's site with all this other clone engine building going on now. I see Russell lists original 390 honda emulsion tubes. Could these be an asset to your EXP carb ?
