upping the speed a little
Ok here is what I have 96TXT dcs 48 volt 2 gauge cables alltrax dcx 400 205/65/10 tires.
with 8 6v batteries it almost hit 32mph. I'm now in the process of redoing the cart running 6 8v batteries and I'm looking for a motor that will get me closer to 40 mph. I work security here in the park where I live and at times I do need a little more speed, any sugestions ? thanks in advance |

Re: upping the speed a little
You need a higher gear in the rear end. Are the rear gears the stock gears now? Also something to consider is that these carts can be a handful at 40. My PDS cart will run 43 and it's pretty twitchy at those speeds.

yeah stock gears, I was thinking maybe something like a plumquick bandit motor, but then again that's why I asked, it doesnt have to be 40 somewhere around 35 would probably do it

Re: upping the speed a little
You're probably on borrowed time turning the motor that many rpm's with the stock gears. You'd be wise to go to 8:1's to gain more speed vs turning a motor even more rpm.

Re: upping the speed a little
Thanks Terry for the info maybe I'll just put the stock tires back on and run it there.
it should run top speed about 30 with the new 6 8v batts instead of the 8 6v batts |
