Exclamation What to look for when buying used?

Any common issues with Yamaha electric carts that I should look for on 2009+ models? What are some good questions to ask of the owner/dealer? Knight Rides is 10 minutes away so we will likely be purchasing from them. Just want to make sure I'm as knowledgeable as possible before purchasing.

Thanks for your help.

Of course, does it have 4-12v, 6-8v, or 8-6v batteries, all three are available? Ptv speed code (19mph)? Motor brush replacement on 2010-2012.5 (see yamaha bulliten GC2012-010a)? High speed gears with stock controller is very poor on hills.

Thanks for the fast reply. Google isn't turning up much for the bulletin you mentioned on the motor brush replacement. Were they failing prematurely?

Any preferred battery configurations? Looks like Knight Rides has mostly 6-8v carts with Trojan batteries.

I'm looking at a 2008. It would have 4 12 volt batteries and he mentioned 19mph when I asked about speed.

You mentioned high speed gears and stock controller is poor on hills. I will have one big hill I will need to climb each time. I don't care if I'm a little slow climbing it, as long as I make it. Is there something I should be asking for when I go back to work a deal.

Try to get any configuration other than 4-12v, it is the least desirable setup of the 3 yamaha offered.

I take it run time is affected by 4 12 volt batteries. Does it also affect torque?

Do you have a copy of this bulletin? I've looked all over and havent seen a copy.

I ask because I have a 2011 PTV.

So 4 12 volt versus 8 6 volt is more of a run time issue then a torque issue.

Since my max run is about 2 miles round trip, and it would be rare to do this twice a day, my run time shouldn't be affected that much.

Yes I think a 18 holes of golf is 5.5 miles.
