ez go quits after getting wet
have a 1999 36 volt ez go, altrax controller. if I drive it on my taxiway after rain and park. go back to it 1 hour or next day won't run. all I hear is a fan running when I step on the accelerator. I one time put a hair drier down by the controller and seemed to fix. but tried same trick and didn't work. some people have told me it might be throttle body under pedal..any ideas thanks.

Re: ez go quits after getting wet
Is the controller throwing any trouble code when it won't work?
Is the solenoid clicking when the cart won't work? |

Re: ez go quits after getting wet
Which Alltrax controller do you have?
The only two with fans that I'm aware of is the SPM (Series drive) and XCT (SepEx drive). Of those two, only the controller in a Series drive system doesn't turn on until the pedal is pushed, so is it safe to guess you have a SPM controller? Does the solenoid click when you push the pedal? Does the LED on the controller flash green 4 times and then stay steady green? ------------- The three things that typically cause problems when they get wet are the controller, the ITS sensor in the pedal box under the floorboard and the in-line connector between the pedal box and the controller. |

Re: ez go quits after getting wet
If the fan comes on, that leads me to believe the throttle is working. 2 qualifications for SPM fan operation are temp above 60°c, or current above 2/3 of maximum.
