Talking G22 Advice on Lift kit please

I have a 2003 Yamaha G22 stock / would like any advice on which works best for a 6" lift kit, considering 12" vs. 14" tires. Will also be adding a flip-seat to rear, is there a car-shock that will fit to replace stock one? Thank you very much :)

Thank you,

Chris

Front spindles went on like a breeze, still working on driver's side camber tho...just a bit off. Here is a picture of the rear sway arm bracket I'm suppose to install - thank you :D

done w/ lift kit...the instructions that came with it were a joke, went to Jake's site and found better ones:

http://www.jakesliftkits.com/golfcar...STRUCTIONS.pdf

would be nice to be able to adjust the camber on the front, however; it appears I would have to upgrade to a long travel kit IOT accomplish that

will post a few pics just for s&g...flip seat & light kit are next when funds avail

Buddy, looks like you bought a brand X lift. Hope it works out for ya.
Usually toe-allignment takes care of camber on a Yamaha.

Want pictures tho!

If you use the stock or other yamaha single a arm, you set camber by height of the shock. You put the usual load on the cart and move it on grass/etc and get the tire straight up/down. It may be higher with nobody on it. If you get on pavement and move forward and reverse and the camber changes then your toe is off the tires are pushing inwards or out as they roll. Since a lift places the arm pivot higher, unlike stock carts if you have toe in it will raise the front up as you drive and drop it if you reverse.

I just did this on the GF's G22. Mine was a Jakes 6" kit and the instructions while sufficient were a little lacking. Someone with little to no gearhead background might have problems. I was able to get my back kit on without removing the body thank heaven. My biggest problem was trying to figure out how to lift the back and let the axle swing. With all the weight a little back of center it was a challenge but I got it done.

Lift kit & tires installed a few weekends ago. I didn't have to remove the body either, the back axle swiveled down & moved left/right a whole lot easier after loosening that big bolt where it pivots. I relocated the choke pull so I didn't have to replace the cable with a longer one. Thank you for the advice shmo!

I just received my backseat kit & cover from diygolfcarts.com (best prices I could find online btw) I'll post more pics later. Happy cartin!

Me too Mike...I adjusted the camber using the toe-in with just a few turns on each side, nice & straight now :)
