89 Par Car Resoration
For anyone interested, I reacquired a cart from my childhood and have a restoration thread located here:
https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthre...59#post1892659 I am posting up some tips and tricks there that will apply to most Par Cars that others might find useful. Of note, I am posting workarounds for parts that may longer be available. |

Re: 89 Par Car Resoration
I was tasked with cleaning out a new building at work and came across a an old gas (2-stroke) utility cart.
After lots of googling, it appears to be a 1986 Columbia GU4 - has the front row bench and a rear "basket." Has been stored inside, just hasn't been used in who knows how long. Trying to figure out what to do with this, and after some more googling I found this post. Oddly enough, I'm in Pittsburgh as well - South Hills. 1) Is this cart worth trying to renew and if so, can you recommend anyone local 2) If it's not worth the hassle, any thoughts on where to take it? |

Re: 89 Par Car Resoration
That cart actually looks to be in great shape for its age. If you don't mind, start a new post in this sub forum to allow future searchers to find info on that cart easier. I have two 85s and know that era Columbia very well. The 89s are a bit different but similar enough.
I am Upper St. Clair by the way. Been a South Hillser my whole life. Note that I am on travel in North Carolina at the moment so my responses will be delayed. |

Re: 89 Par Car Resoration
I have no experience whatsoever with the 5 solenoid system. That said, how hard can it be? If you have any questions feel free to post them up and we'll see if we can work them through.
