Governor removal?
Hey guys I was bored and was looking at the sticky thread on the governor shaft removal. I'm now a little worried that I may have did it wrong. When I disconnected my governor I was told to take the black metal flapper/paddle off of my governor shaft and nothing was mentioned about the rest. I see there is a bushing on the shaft that could possibly fall into the case I'm thinking? I have about 40 hours on my motor since then and it runs great still and I want to keep it that way. Is that bushing pressed in very tight? I sure don't want to ruin my engine if that thing just drops out some day.
Thanks |

Re: Governor removal?
Relax friend, even if the bushing did fall inside the engine it would stay at the bottom. It can't hurt anything there.
Did you re-install your shaft or did you plug the hole? |

Re: Governor removal?
Thanks for the reply. I used the shaft again. I have my throttle cable hooked up in a way that I need the arm mounted on the gov. shaft so I left it in place. I'm sure sooner or later I'll be doing more motor mods and I'll get back in there and do it right. I'm glad I didn't do too bad of a mistake. I'll sleep better tonight now.
Thanks guys |

Re: Governor removal?
i have a 16 hp vanny on mine with the governer. it dose ok, about 20 mph. you can tell when it starts to work the engine slows down but dosen't loose it's speed. it has a lot of power to get you to speed. i'm wating till the warranty runs out before i remove mine.
