Lengthen the life of lithium
Hello all,
I've read that the four biggest killers of lithium are storing/charging to full max vpc, discharging down to nearly 0% remaining capacity, storage at over 90 degrees F and excessively high charge rates. This was on Battery University website. Nothing I can do about storage temp, but I am charging my pack to 4.1vpc (4.2 is max) and discharging potentially as low as 3.25vpc where i've read 3.0 or 2.5vpc is the lowest depending on who you ask. I am charging at less than 1/3rd C except for regen. At regen I have it set to a little less than 1.75C as the max regen amperage. 3C is the highest stated charge rate for Chevy Volt cells (according to the internet) So what are you doing to achieve the best longevity in your packs? Anything I've missed? Anything you think I can do better? |
