No vacuum felt at carb
I just bought a non running 94 par car. It has the gas engine. I have cleaned the carb, new plug, new wire, fresh fuel etc. It will only sputter when cranking with a little shot of ether. What I noticed, is if i put my hand over the carb inlet when cranking, i feel next to no vacuum at all. Shouldn't there be significant vacuum felt? Ideas?

Re: No vacuum felt at carb
Yes sir. There should be enough vacuum there to snug your fingers up to the carb. Check out the sticky on the top of the HD forums. HDs and Columbias were pretty much the same cart so it applies.
Poor vacuum is normally bad crank seals. Those aren't too bad of a fix on a Columbia. More of a PIA on the HDs. |

So a 1994 Par car still used a 2 stroke engine?

Yep. I don't believe Columbia ever made a 4 stroke golf cart. I know they made some 4 stoke utilities vehicles, just not carts.
