Am now trying to figure out logistics of where to put everything...

The logistics is a pain. I literally spent hours staring at my tub, move this here, that there. Never really happy, I finally said F it and started screwing things down. I’m very happy with the result. Just try to make efficient use of space and remember the chance you will have to service or repair something later and you don’t want to disassemble any extra stuff to fix it.

@blfinche - Am taking a bunch o' pics, and will post.

@E36Racer - Do you have any pics of your setup (batt pack, controller, BMS system)?

Not sure if you got the LithiumBoost system, but man those BMS systems are big!

Here is a pic of mine before install. I’m wrapping up some stereo wiring cleanup so I don’t want to sent a post install pic just yet because it looks messy.

Is that the battery pack on the left, and the BMS on the right?

Charger on the right. The BMS is mounted on the side of the pack

Any comments on the LithiumBoost system? I would like to build my own, but I don't have the time or equipment to fabricate any metal parts.

I just called them. They are not taking any orders for 2 weeks and it seems the price has gone up about $500. I don't think English was his first language, so I wasn't sure of the price. His exact words were "Thirty three, thirty one hundred for the 48V 72AH pack."

I will say, if you are going through the trouble with a lithium conversion, might as well add a couple extra cells to up the voltage and total pack capacity. At that point the incremental cost is immaterial and worth it.
