Re: truck
my 79 f-350 NEVER has given me a bit og trouble. String axles, (dand 60's) reliable motors and a bulit proof c6... Nothing wrong with fords except the 80's, they sucked hard.

Re: truck
I know a guy who likes to buy a dodge and then wait for the tranny to start slipping after 1-2 years of light driving. He then sells it and buys another one just like it but 1 or 2 years newer.

Re: truck
The dodge automatics did have problems but if you get a stick shift there fine trucks, my grandpa has a 1997 dodge cummins with 250,000 miles and the tranny was rebuilt not to long ago(automatic) ,but if you think about it the gas and diesel both have the same tranny so a gas engine hits about 200,000 miles the engine starts to quit, so a diesel engine will run forever but the tranny wont.

Re: truck
We had a 86 that we BEAT to death, and it still ran good the day we sold it. But the body on it was BAD. It was rustin like there was no tomorrow. But other than that, it was a GREAT truck.

Re: truck
My ideal truck...
Ford F-350, Cummings Diesel, and an Allison transmission. That truck would be unstoppable. |
