Default Dead Eco 105

Bought a Gen1 105ah 48v Eco-Battery
Worked great for 800miles (in four months)
Climbing a steep hill, it just "popped" and shut down.
Dealer sent it back and a few weeks later they sent me the new version.
The one with an on/off button.
I hope this one is reliable.
03 DS
600amp Navitas
D&D high speed

The pop was probably the BMS. Possibly they did not have one that could handle the amp draw you were asking with your high speed motor and the 600a Navitas.

Most times the BMS would just shut down but obviously was not the case here.

It was the BMS as per the guys at Eco
They are very good on customer service btw
I had 38% charge and 52ish volts at the time
I don't have the torque dialed very high, when I do it's insane
I would like to use this cart in the Blue Ridge mountains but now
I'm worried about overload from those hills.

From my understanding the high speed motors can really draw a bunch of torque in off road/hilly conditions and are only recommended for use on light hills and solid footing.

The Data Sheet says...
Max discharge for 3seconds is 600amps
Max for 30sec is 300amps
sounds like a lot to me
I assume there's no way I could pull that
??

I have a Club Car Lithium in the mtns, WNC. They use smaller motor and controller than you, still AC. Mine is programmed for sport, (more torque for hills), top speed around 22mph. It almost goes up the mtns as fast as flats, faster than down hill (really good regen, hardly ever use brakes). Really pulls hard straight up.

Talk with Eco and your controller manufacturer to dial in the correct settings for both, and you won't believe the performance around the Blue Ridge.

Thanks for the reply.
My motor is DC. Don't know if that makes much difference.
One comforting thing is..The placard on top of this Gen2 battery says 300amps max for 30second where the Gen1 battery said 200.
That could be the threshold I was reaching??
My sisters live in Ellijay GA on a logging road at 2k elevation.
Probably not as high as you but the road has some steep climbs here and there.
I like the Regen on the Navitas as it would help with braking coming down inclines. The OEM brakes worry me at 25+ downhill.

DC motor should be fine, simply not as efficient as AC. Yea, we are at 3000 + feet. VERY steep hills. Keep that regen high and it will save brakes and skidding. I only use brakes at the bottom, feather accelerator on the way down, if not regen will actually stop me on the decline.

You need to limit your Navitas max amps to 300a maybe 250. No way that battery is going to put out 600 amps w/o triggering a low voltage fault. And it will only get worse as the weather gets colder.
