Default WTB 36v AMD brand motor for ezgo

I am looking for a black AMD brand thick can housing ezgo 36 V motor for my 1977 3wheel. I have recently converted it to solid state and I am about due for new batteries so I was wanting to switch it to 48v since everything will accept it but the motor was upgraded by the previous owner so it is an aftermarket 36v motor that will not take 48v. Apparently these motors were able to take 48v without issue. This is a 10 spline with Dana differential. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I haven’t seen a 36v series motor that doesn’t work great on 48v, at least for a long time. What motor do you have?

The gray GE brand thin can 36v motor. The few places that I have read online say that my type of motor can only be used with 36v and with stock components. Apparently they put 2 different motors in these older 36v ezgo’s and the one I have is not meant for anything other than stock stuff and the AMD one could be used with 36v or 48v without issue and had no problems with performance upgrades. It was a much better motor.

I had the same motor that millercorey has pictured and it ran well on 48volts and even better with a Plum Quick Bandit upgrade.

I am needing the one with the internal 10 spline. It would have likely been on a pre 1990 EZGO. Looking up the serial numbers it appears yours is newer, however it is pretty much what I’m looking for unfortunately I need a specific one. This cart I have is a old 3 wheel EZGO and it’s difficult to find what I need without spending an arm and a leg.

You might look around and see if you can get the coupler replaced. I have heard of people welding a nut to the coupler and using a (large) bolt to pull it off. I have never done this personally so I don't know how well it works.

im using the stock 10 spline 2.5hp gray GE motor I converted from 36v to 48v in my yamaha... it runs great on the 51v lithium pack with the 500a controller... pops wheelies even. I'm not going to lie though... I'm on the look out for a motor that will do even bigger wheelies and go faster that 20mph even though I likely wont ever go that fast at the campground anyway.
