Angry 2006 Yamaha G22

I am trying to remove primary clutch. I got bolt loose but it doesn’t have space to come all the way out. It makes contact with the frame bar. Will I have to loosen and move the entire engine assembly over?

Sometimes you have to remove the rear shocks and drop the cradle down.

Here is an easy way to get the clutch off. Loosen the bolt. Take a breaker bar and place it on the inside of the clutch Pay close attention to placement. See pictures. 2-3 solid hits and the clutch pops off.

Thanks. I’ll give that a try.

Got bolt out but now I find that the puller bolt I bought does not fit. It bottoms out before engaging the threads. Looks like the extended shaft makes puller too short. Any ideas?

After getting up close and personal I see the threads on the shaft. Problem is the puller bolt is much too small in diameter and length. How do I find the proper size puller?

Looks to me like you have a "Team" clutch, not the stock Yamaha clutch. What you have was common on a G-29 (Drive). Either clutch will fit the crankshaft and work, but they do take a different puller.

I was able to get clutch off with a few sharp strikes with rubber mallet. My intentions are to get more low end torque with a new clutch. Hope it’s not an exercise in futility. I mostly drive cart on hilly terrain and in woods and have experienced too much slippage.

Plowmans has everything you could want or need to improve the performance of your Yamaha. Best bang for your buck. Buying pieces/parts from amazon or ebay and trying to cobble something together doesn't always have good results...
