Default Junk ezgo ignitors

ALL of the pre MCI aftermarket ignitors ( tried at least a dozen from diff sources)
I have tried will not spark.
carts will spark with my known good tester
You would think that I'm not the only one getting non-functional aftermarket 72562G01 for use on pre-MCI 295.

Most of them are made by the same company (Nivel) and quality is not good.

We have heard good reports about the red hawk brand ignitors, though I have not tried one myself.

EPIGC 107 is what 95% of suppliers have. Haven't had one that works yet.
You would think THAT would be a BIG deal.

As far as I am aware you can’t order red hawk online. You’ll need to go to a dealer. i believe most golf cart dealers do carry red hawk

I went through a similar struggle a few years ago on my old Yamaha cart. I kept ordering ignitors, a couple even advertised as oem (with an oem price tag to boot) with a Yamaha part number only to have it show up and have the same nivel crap part number stamped on the back.

Some dead right out of the box. Some worked maybe 10 minutes and died. One of them even lasted a day and a half. I tried probably 5 or 6 of them before giving up and doing a HEI conversion, which worked fine on that cart. Unfortunately that’s not really a good option on these robins motors so you’re really kind of stuck. I’d call some local cart shops and see if they carry red hawk parts and just buy it locally.

Did you buy from an Ezgo dealer ?

CP241 is correct. I have seen sellers who show the OEM or the Red Hawk online in the picture and when you order it that's not the one you get.

Find an ezgo dealer and pay the $200 plus for the Red Hawk one.

Now from what I have noticed over the years most won't pay that much.

I have bought two from a dealer this year for other people and they worked. Over $200 shipped with tax.

You checking these on a running cart ?

Yes, I am testing on a running cart as stated in my original post.
I have been in the Golfcar business for 30 years.
I have a couple of OEM-used ones I use for testing.
My query was: How can ALL these suppliers of non-functional non-oem ignitors continue to sell them if they don't work 95% of the time?
I can get the Red Hawk eng-116 but OEMs are out of stock.
HEI doesn't work with that system and the MCI ignitor requires an MCI Pulser which won't work with the pre-MCI flywheel.
I was just trolling to see if anyone had found a cheaper alternative.
My customers complain and say "hell I can buy it online blah blah" and I get tired of arguing with them about how the cheap ones don't work.

Slight correction.. it’s not actually “all” of these suppliers selling the junk. It’s one supplier (nivel) that gets rebranded about 100 different ways and sold as different brands, part numbers, etc. but it’s all the exact same part and yes, it’s garbage. But they sell a lot of them because they’re half the price of the red hawk (or less) and a fraction of the price of oem.

I believe I read somewhere at some point the red hawk ones are made in Taiwan. All the nivel are straight off the China boat
