Default Blowing fuses on battery charger

I just bought a 2001 TXT series EZGO. It would not run is. I found all batteries with water below the plates. They are 2 years old. I filled with distilled water but, charger would not kick on so I charged all batteries individually to 6 v. +. Cart would run but not very well. I hooked up charger and it still would not run. Found charger fuse blown. Replaced fuse and charger flashed a couple of times and blew again. Pack voltage was at 37 v. All batteries load test to at least weak and electrolytes are low but close to ok. I am going to borrow a cheap battery charger and see what it does. I know there are a lot of possibilities but, can anybody help?

Charger that is blowing fuses often has a shorted diode or shorted capacitor.

I bought a new charger and hooked ezgo plug to it. When I turned it on the charger wire from plug to battery snapped and blew apart. I cannot find any grounds so I don't know what is happening. When I hook the charger to the battery pack everything is fine. It started out at 18v and came down until it shut off.
