Maybe a connection issue then. my battery cables are so old they quit sometimes. Once I had to file out the inside of the clamps and file the battery posts to make it start. And they looked clean, I had used a wire brush type cleaner on them and it did not work. I keep forgetting to measure them for new ones. They are working fine for now but I know they will fail again. G9 also had issue with the small wires going to the solenoid and the connectors on them would go bad.

Well now today it went back to the starting issue. Clicks clicks. Moved starter by hand, hit starter with hammer and still nothing. Took cover off where solenoid is. Hit with hammer few times and then tried it. Starts right up now. Thinking the solenoid might be bad now.

Just get a bigger hammer, I have faith you'll find some problems...

The S/G can be tested and rebuilt at a generator repair shop. Cheaper and better than aftermarket china crap.

Its been fine till recently. Now it won’t start. Click click and grinding noise. Then it will start. hit starter and that doesn’t help. Replaced the brushes 3 years ago.

I'd check the shut off switch at the pedal. A stupid little thing that's cheap and easy to replace. I could have saved myself an extended period of high blood pressure and a lot of swear jar money if I had just checked it first.

Default G16 intermittent starting

Now it doesn’t do anything. Battery is good. Could it be the key switch? Before I could turn the key on off 15 times to get it to start.

Did some more research. Found there is a 10 amp fuse. fuse was blown. Not sure how fuse blows from sitting all winter with no battery in it.

It didn't blow from sitting, it blew the first time you hit the go pedal this season which means it's going to blow again because there is a intermittent short somewhere in the system. The start/stop switch between the brake pedal is very inexpensive as is the key switch (and you can get a key switch keyed differently than the other one million Yamaha carts out there, if you choose).
