think its a 79 g1. fuel wasnt pumping through, cleaned carb and replaced fuel lines and fuel pump. tried to pressurize fuel tank to prime pump and can't get gas to flow through the fuel filter. barely comes out of hose when i disconnect it. do i need a new tank? i've spent way too much time on this dang thing

My G1 takes a while to get fuel to it after the first couple times starting it; after awhile it "warms up" and runs fine though. Long story short I have to choke it quite a bit.
Is that normal or is there a way to tell if your fuel pump is bad?

Pull the fuel line from the carb and crank it over with it in neutral, check for a pulsing fuel flow. If not check fuel lines for leaks, obstructions in lines and then the pump its self.

Just picked up an early G1 looks (79-80) from a friend of the family who used on his ranch. He believed needs a fuel pump. Lines and filter are new to the pump, primed the lines and confirmed flow through. When line is disconnected from carb no gas flow when cranking. Any other suggestions before replacing pump? Suggested store to purchase, OEM or aftermarket? If that doesn’t work looks like crank seal would be next possibility? Appreciate the help.

Disconnect the pulse line and cover it with your finger then turn it over. If you feel a pulse change the pump.

Already pulled the carb and pump, I don’t think it should matter for the pulse line port. I covered it and don’t feel any pressure. Crank case seal? Suggested distributors? Thanks!

Thank you! Starting to tear it down, hopefully that’s it for now.
